🏔️ Best time to go

Prime months: Jan · Feb · Mar · Apr · Nov · Dec.

Vorab Glacier opens as early as mid-November — one of Switzerland's earliest season starts, with 70%+ of terrain above 2,000m snow-sure from day one.

Peak powder window: week 2 of January averages the most snowfall (~16 in), with historic February summit depths hitting 103 in and off-piste tracks filling fast after dumps.

Deepest base of the season (avg 288–115 in at summit in March), long sunny days, and spring-softened snow make this the best combo of coverage, stability, and light.

⛷️ The mountain

Flims Laax Falera (marketed as LAAX) is Europe's top freestyle resort, spanning 235 km (146 mi) of pistes from 1,050 m (3,445 ft) to a glacier peak at 3,018 m (9,902 ft), with a vertical drop of 1,968 m (6,457 ft), four snowparks, off-piste bowls, groomed cruisers, and cold dry glacier snow.

Also known for: Bündner Gerstensuppe (hearty local barley soup from Graubünden) — and riding the LAAX OPEN halfpipe, Europe's largest
